Hello from Balmorhea, TX
Phoenix is close to Quartzsite. Join us at our Annual Southwest Bluebirds and Friends Quartzsite rally. Look us up at southwest-bluebirds.org . Over 70 Blue Birds have signed up for the 2009 rally.

Hello from Balmorhea, TX
Curt,

Would love to but this year we're on a pretty crazy schedule, taking the kids to see
my wife's dad in Phoenix until around noon on the 25th, then we're making stops
at Carlsbad Caverns and at the McDonald Observatory on the way back to be home

on the 30th.

By the way, can anyone recommend good camping locations between Phoenix,AZ and Carlsbad,NM
(and in Carlsbad)?

Hello from Balmorhea, TX

Somegood mid points are Deming NM,specifically Rockhound state park, although Deming has plenty of good parks.Unfortuneately,if you stay at Rockhound SP you may not want to leave.
And in Arizona, Wilcox or Benson both have plenty of good spots right off the Highway.

Hello from Balmorhea, TX
On TX I-10W mm55, El Paso and the Wylie Aerial Tramway shortly, then on to Phoenix by tonight.
In Phoenix we're double-parking with Grand-Dad's SOB in front of the house Smile
Rockhound sounds nice, checking the map plot next Smile

Hello from Balmorhea, TX
At Wilcox, they'll wash your coach for $1/ft. I can't remember the name of the place, but it's one of the main cross streets near the McDonalds..technically westbound but really northbound I-10.
