Roy's 1986 PT 40 BlueBird, asking price $50K OBO
To anyone interested,

I winterized and checked Roy's coach along with him back in November. At that
time, we had just returned from RATS and all systems were in good working order.
We installed a Xantrex ProSine 2.0 and King Dome a few years back and I helped
Roy update some of the other stuff in the coach. It also has a Jake Brake- the
"real one" that rumbles, not the tranny brake. Whoever buys the unit should want
for nothing- it's ready to go and would be a great coach for years to come with
normal maintenance. Roy had Steve Welch over at Equipment Works in Northern VA
maintain the coach regularly and Barbara has a good excel spreadsheet with all
of the maintenace info.

BB from Dale & Patty Tewalt (up in Washington state; now they are in Alaska). I
want you to know that you (the BB group) brought joy, laughter, & friendship to
Roy as he progressed through his cancer ordeal. You made the world a better
place for Roy (and me in turn). Thanks! I’ve been meaning to pass that
along --- but haven’t really found the right time until now.

but I am more of a passenger than a driver of such a big rig. I have visited
the bird in the storage lot a couple of times since Roy died and each time
brings sad and happy memories. The bird has to be used if it’s going to be in
good shape to sell it when the economy gets better, so --- Steve Welch (owner of
Equipment Works in Lorton, VA) has graciously volunteered to de-winterize it and
check the condition of all should someone become interested in it. I may put it
up on e-bay in another month but am in no rush with so many other things to sort
through and deal with.

things.

new, very lucky owner. I say this because you guys & gals are wonderful folks
and have such a great time together â€" you are a great addition to the other
good stuff about BB ownership --- a family. OK --- moving on.

Can't say more then if Shane feels it's a good one that would be good enough for
me. He has helped me and lots of others with "projects" on these PT's and knows
them well. So this one should be a easy one to see to a new owner. Terrible way
to have these things change hands but such is life. Could be any one of us at
any time.

John/Shane:

You know these birds are a timeless (almost) work of art. Someone said the
chances are they will outlive a lot of us; therefore we are just stewards, good
stewards at that, caring for them for a while.

All the owners/forum(s) members are wonderful folk. Banding together to insure
the care of these wonderful machines are passed on to others who will, like each
of us enjoy them for years to come.

I have never personally met any of y'all but I hope to one day. In the
meanwhile, thanks and kudos to all of you.
