Yup, just think how much snow you would have on those Birds if it wasn't for
global warming - sorry, climate change. The good news is that that your current storm should reach DC again in the next two days, meaning they probably won't open again next week. If it is any consolation, we woke up to high 30s and no power here in the South Texas Hill Country. Chilly. Thanks goodness for the big Bird as a safe haven for warm coffee. Did not see the posts or Brady's comments, but we lived in a stick'n'staple RV
where the annual snowfall averaged 13 feet. Saw sheds and old garages go down under 6-8 feet of snow but didn't experience or hear about any RV problems. We usually shoveled off when the snow depth reached about 3 feet. Guess an unsupported RV would see a lot of extra tire and spring load. For most BB coaches the load could be spread across the suspension and the jacks. Ice dams on the roof and the resulting leaks during a thaw are a bigger problem in snow country than snow load. Ernie,
It fell faster and heavier than it could melt. We're up to 6-8" now. For the first time since we moved here in 1978, I had to shovel my driveway. Temp still 33 here. Consider yourself lucky. Here in the Philly area, we had 18-24 inches Saturday, 26 inches yesterday, and more to possibly come next week. That's in addition to a few small storms in January and 8-12 inches in December. Its the most snowfall in one season on record, and winter isn't over yet!
