Help needed - 82 PT40 sender locations
Hi gang,

Hoping someone can help us out here. I am due to fly to FL a week from today to
pick up my new to me 82 PT40. The current owner just contacted me to say he is
having an issue with the engine oil pressure gauge and engine temperature gauge
- both have stopped working. He says he contacted the gauge manufacturer
(Teleflex) who say they only made them and the corresponding senders in 82 and
83. He now bought new Stewart Warner gauges and sending units, hoping he can
replace them and cure the problem. But he can't find the actual location of
these 2 sending units. Can anyone help us out so we can get this resolved?

Thanks!
Markus

Ernie,

Thanks, that helped. He found the oil sender on the inner frame rail, away from
the engine. He says he'll replace that with the new gauge tonight and see what
happens.

Thanks,
Markus

Thanks Ernie - he found them, replaced both sensor and gauges, and at least for
the moment, everything is working again!
