Need help in identifying my new Bluebird

I just purchased a 1970 Bluebird single axle pusher, side bath with a Diesel.
According to the research I have since done this configuration was not available
in 1970. I have posted some pictures in an album titled 1970 Bluebird, please
take a lokk and if anyone can offer any info it would be greatly appreciated. I
was told the Diesel is a Military spec. but do not yet have specific details on
the exact size and model. Thank you.

Last year on WOG a poster was buying a 1970 pusher, although it had a gas
engine. Discussion centered on a number of prototypes from that era.

I noted then:

"Talking today with a Newell-owning friend about chassis, and he said that he
had been told by the current owner of Newell that the first Newell, just one,
was built on a "Madsen Chassis." Also mentioned in the conversation (between my
friend and the Newell guy) was that "Blue Bird built about a half-dozen on that
chassis in 1970." Supposedly there were a number of fires in those models, which
was one reason it was not continued."

I can't help you much with identifing the new coach, but I did notice it has NY
plates on it. If you can come to the WarneRama Rally in NY in June I'm sure you
can get a lot of input.

There were I believe nine prototype pushers built in 1970 by Blue Bird. There has been quite a bit of discussion in the WOG (Wanderlodge Owners Group) forum and a couple members there own them. If you do a search there you should find quite a bit of information. There is a lot of information in that thread about what you have. It is a Rare
Bird for sure.

When I replied previously I could not find your pictures. I just saw the pictures and now I believe what you have is actually a Blue Bird School Bus conversion. Looks like a pretty good job from the outside. Go ahead and check out the link I gave you to the Prototype on the other forum and see what you think.
