New insurance
Hi group,
My Foremost insurance is coming up for renewal. My last policy with them was $630 and for renewal they want $711. No claims or anything. I checked with Progressive as they have our car and they want $505. This is based on the low book of $13,800 of worth or ACV. Jeeze, our bird is dropping faster than Obama's popularity. Anybody got a better insurance company to deal with? Is anybody going with their Actual Cash Value with an insurance co? Bob Lawrence 84 PT36 Cushing, Maine |

New insurance
I have my Wanderlodge with Progressive also and I picked a value thatI felt I could replace it for in today's down market in the unlikely situation that it would be totaled out. I don't think it pays to insure for more than current market value because it just raises your premium and God willing, you will never need it anyway, and if you do you will be covered adequately to replace it.I can always increase the insured value if things turn around and values start going up.

Moral of the story.....don't sell the bus.
We plan to keep ours until we have to go to the old folk's home. I use Progressive because we full time and I think they were the most reasonable when I shopped for full-timers insurance. Plus, I bought an additional 10K in contents. I think it's best to keep it as well. Our 85 PT40 is one of the best values still!! Hang onto those Birds. And, it gives the kids an inheritance!!!! I agree, even in today's market that is way to low for your coach. Progressive will usually let you put the value on it that you choose but of coarse your premium reflects that value.
