Jim, Ralph, Bim and myself did a PDI on an SP for a client. We drove that
coach and it performed very well. ernie in montana-without my pt40 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

I am looking at upgrading from my 1983 FC RB to a 1991 SP36. I was
wondering what the board members opinion was regarding the SP, and was curious as to how it performed uphill. It has a 3208 300 HP with a four speed ZF tranny and the coach weighs 36000 pounds. jim |

One correction, it is a 5 speed ZF. I have no experience with them,
but if the price is right it would be a nice upgrade in my opinion. Hi Jim
I have a 1991 SP36. It has a 5 speed ZF Transmission, not 4. You want to find out if the prom in the zf module has been re-programed which means that the shift points were reset to a higher RPM. That will do wonders for the uphill battle. I've had it now for 10 years, and still learning systems on it. I have worked and documented everything i ever did to my bird and I have made up a complete Handbook of for it with every system described and illustrated. And my book is still expanding all the time. My opinion of this bird is ITS A HECK OF A FINE MACHINE. But you must be willing to do some work on it for up-keep/ maintenance. If you want to know anything more about this bird, just drop me a note at juesteinm@... Juergen in PA 1991 WLSP36 --- bluebird3208 > I am looking at upgrading from my 1983 FC RB to a > 1991 SP36. I have had a 89SP for 8 years and 90,000 miles but not trouble free.
Things will need to be repaired on an ongoing basis and you need to be prepared to deal with them. They are compact , quiet with the engine in the rear, cruise effortlessly at 75 and are a beautiful ride. Am about to embark on a 2,000 mile trip and cannot wait to get on the road. I would do it again. --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "bluebird3208" > I am looking at upgrading from my 1983 FC RB to a 1991 SP36.
