Pulsation from small convereter
Ralph, I had a small (2 plug) converter (DC to AC) hook up to run my CPAP machine. I got the idea from you a few years back. I only use the device when I am not hooked up to AC power
The problem I have is that the CPAP pulsates when running on the converter. And I have replaced 1 CPAP after 4 days boondocking.

As you can imagine if your breathing is not at the same speed as the pulse ...you wake up. The converter is hook up directly to the engine batteries in the bay. What do you think, a bad converter?

It is possible to be a bad converter, or perhaps a bad connection to the 12
vdc source wiring or plug. We have been running Charolette's CPAP on our
275 watt inverter for some years now with out any problems.

Check the connections for corrosion. I know when I am running the small
inverter to power my lap top for GPS down the road I have to plug into the
dash 12 vdc lighter socket rather than the one on the toe board near the co
pilots seat because it will pulse. I have yet to trace the wiring.

You might try an extension cord with the inverter at a different voltage
source first. This should tell you if it is the inverter or the plug you
now use.
