Blue Bird Red Electrical Paint (Glyptal)
Have you ever wondered what the red paint is that BB used to cover all it's exposed electrical connections? It's Glyptal:

I thought it was maybe red lead anti-fouling paint like they used to use on boat bottoms. I thought Glyptol rang a bell--I saw it recommended years ago for sealing castings. Supposed to make oil flow better?! I considered it for corrosion-inhibiting inside a seawater-cooled exhaust manifold. Decided not to, but here it is, still recommended for engine interior: http://www.eastwood.com/glyptal-red-aero...75-oz.html Thanks for the Glyptal reference, this stuff seems to last and last without allowing oxides to form on connections.
