tail lights - Stephen Birtles - 04-07-2007 12:38 Ed be sure to check out John's fix for the dim lights Right now there are no dependable led replacements for the older Square round Cateye lights. It has to do with the lens itself it is cast for an incandescent bulb and its properties. We have built several prototypes for a replacement but they do not provide the proper amount of light output when covered with the original lens but we are still working on it We do have replacements for the clearance lights in led and also the small reverse lights. I washed all the lenses in the dishwasher, ( TWICE), and bot some silver paint at Wal-Mart to renew the faded and peeling yellow and black paint behind the lenses. Took all the bulbs out and cleaned or replaced them, and completed an over due paint job in this area. 30 yrs of dirt removed really brightens things up. Hope this helps, George Burke 77 FC 31 Charlotte ----- Original Message ----- From: Peggy & Ed McStay To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com Sent: Saturday, April 07, 2007 4:03 PM Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] tail lights iam looking to start a new project on the bus and its going to be those dim and dull tail lights. also going to redo the trailer plug. how about some input on the best way to get those tail lights and brake lights to shine bright. also on the trailer plug , lights are also dim. has anyone changed these lights to lcd. thanks for your input. ed and peggy mcstay 83FC 35FT rear bath "lonesome dove" [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] tail lights - truitt44@...> - 04-08-2007 03:52 Ed, I was polishing my chrome and decided to see if the chrome polish would cut the build up on the rear lens. It has helped a great deal. I also applied it to the front lens also. I was using an electric buffer.
