New Member - tommy.rountree - 02-26-2009 23:25 Good morning all: Tommy Rountree here - in the foothills of the Appalachians. While I got off to a "bad start", (thanks Ernie for the e-mail) I look forward to my association with this group. Martha and I started motorhoming in 1972 with a 30' Travco. When the children started to college the motorhome had to go. I'm now looking to retirement in about two years, hence the BB which I purchased last July. I am a member of and regularly post on two other forums and search for every "scrap" of info I can get. I am however very challenged when it comes to mechanical ability, but I'm learning. I made a lot of mistakes when I first got my bird (1994 WLWB) and while so far I have been more of an information "taker" rather than a "giver". There's not much I can offer other members/owners like y'all do, but I am the District Attorney for the 41st Judicial Circuit of Alabama (http://www.blountda.com). Hopefully nobody will need the assistance of a DA in Alabama, but if you have a problem in my fair state, you can contact me through my website or via this forum. New Member - Bob Lawrence - 02-27-2009 02:21 Welcome aboard, Tommy. Be careful with your help to this groug. They MIGHT need your help. LOL! Is a small world indeed. Our Travco was a 1970, I believe the model # was a 320. 30 or 32 feet long on a Dodge chassis with a big ole Dodge 440. Good engine. We carried the kids all over the U.S. in that motorhome and never had mucxh of a problem. I pulled (backwards BTW) a little 73 or 74, I believe, Dodge Colt (Mitsubishi) RWD which had a hitch attached to the rear frame. I bought a winch type device which you used to winch up the rear of the car and then let it down on the ball which was mounted on the rear of the motorhome. As I recall, we used bungees from the front doors to the steering wheel to prevent a excess of castering of the front wheels. Towed that little car thousands of miles with never a problem. Didn't have brakes nor lights. When we traveled at night (which was very rare) I would switch on the emergency flashers. Never got questioned nor stopped. Anybody remember that kind of "set-up"?
