Can Anyone Help??? Stuck with an extended generator... 84PT40!!!! - Scott Forman - 06-29-2007 10:06 I have the light, and it comes on when I extend the tray. Strange. Stuck with an extended generator... 84PT40!!!! - mbulriss - 06-29-2007 10:54 Scott, Starting to sound like a prior owner modification to remove the locking slider bar that I would not care for if it was mine. The small stop tabs at the back of the tray runners will not stop it under a hard stop. Seems like a few years back, someone posted about their genset tray sliding out and landing on the road in front of them under a hard braking scenario. Oooops! Anyone else remember that post? Mike Bulriss 1991 WB40 "Texas Minivan" San Antonio, TX - nice and steamy right now..... --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Scott Forman" <sforman@...> wrote: > > I have the light, and it comes on when I extend the tray. Stuck with an extended generator... 84PT40!!!! - Scott Forman - 06-29-2007 13:04 Yes, for some reason that is beyond my understanding, the entire assembly has been removed. I thought it odd that BB wouldn't have put one on there, but figured they know more than me. With this conversation, though, I can see where the release lever used to stick out the front and where the bolts extended out the sides to secure it. Ah...but never fear...shadetree engineering to the rescue. Went to my local Lowes and bought two 3/4 X 3" clevis pins and pushed them through the original holes from the inside. Engages the frame perfectly and locks in with cotter pins. Tried to slide the tray with the hydraulics, and it won't budge with those on there. So I think I have solved the problem. Will be a bit less convenient to pop those out than slide the original latch, but functional. Stuck with an extended generator... 84PT40!!!! - Don Bradner - 06-29-2007 15:13 If "Electric" means what mine is (not hydraulic), I'm not sure why it would have a latch. Mine doesn't. Stuck with an extended generator... 84PT40!!!! - Pete Masterson - 06-29-2007 15:21 Might be ... I think mine's electric too. Open or close, when it reaches the stop, it makes a 'click-click' noise. No safety latch. No dash lights (that I noticed --since I've always opened/closed the generator from the outside and have never looked at the dash when it's been open).
