Dish Network versus Direct TV - Curt Sprenger - 07-05-2007 09:14 Keith, The receiver that's working, swap it with the other receiver and see what happens. Could be wiring and/or LNB issues. Anything over 100 ft they recommend a signal booster Dave Erickson Waiting on a booster... -----Original Message----- From: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com [mailto:WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Keith Strehle Sent: Thursday, July 05, 2007 2:56 PM To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] Re: Dish Network versus Direct TV Hmmm? Interesting? So the problem is in the receiver, again. So they will send me yet ANOTHER receiver which means I get to go to FedEx again to send the other one back. This will be the fourth one. In the meantime I'm paying for service I'm not getting? I guess this is what happens when they have a monopoly on the business. Oh well, I suppose this is the cost of doing business these days. Keith 84FC35 Dish Network versus Direct TV - Tom McCarthy - 07-05-2007 13:59 I have DirecTV in my coach with a KVH L3 in-motion dish. The only way to get it to work was to install a Radio Shack power supply for the receivers and dish. Running off the inverters directly could not keep the power steady and clean for the software. I have never had a problem since and it has been 4 years since we figured this out. Probably does not help your house problem but when you get to the coach install, remember the power supply. Have you tried the receiver-swap that he suggested? On 7/5/2007 at 2:14 PM Curt Sprenger wrote: >Keith, >The receiver that's working, swap it with the other receiver and see >what happens. I do need to use a powered signal booster to get a real clear picture. I find it interesting how all this sorts out. Curt Sprenger 1987 PT38 8V92 "MacAttack Racing" Anaheim Hills, Calif.
