Refrigerator fans - Howard O. Truitt - 05-20-2008 06:05 Ryan,
Glad it worked for you.
I question blowing theair out the access panel. Hot air naturallyrises up the back of the refrig. to the exaust stackblowing the fanair up over the coils adds to the natural upward movement of the air and in theory should cool the coils better. You need to be careful not to blow or suck the air to close to the heating chamber. The electric element or gas flame does not need to be disturbed. It needs to heat the amonia to boiling to produce the gas for cooling. Also the heating compartment and the propane jet may need cleaning and adjustment. I think a lot of folks replace refrigerators when they only need a good cleaning and adjustment by a "good qualified technician".
