Inverter main fuse - Arcticdude - 11-07-2014 01:24 I recently popped an inverter fuse. Turns out mine are a Shawmut Ampsurge A13X250 250a fuse. This crosses to a Bussmann 4XC83 from Grainger. $68 plus tax each. I haven't yet mounted the new one, but it appears to be very close in all dimensions and should be an easy replacement. BB used a piece of rubber and a metal clamp that is a dead short to the battery if it comes just a little loose. Pix attached. Again, while you are at it, install a rubber cover over the back of thee hot jump terminal. It is inviting a massive spark if you happen to ground it with a wrench. Seriously, the chargers come back through these fuses on mine. Good points, Ron. I'll have to study mine a little to see how to do that properly. |
