On my coaches with the high idle engaged the throttle pedal never did
anything. When the high idle is turned off everything is normal. Mike

I recall, that when I was going down the freeway with the cruise on, I
reached for my CB mike, which is located right beside high idle lever. Hit the
lever and the cruise disengaged, thought the engine had died and pulled over-
just in time to see what I did. Now, I keep the mike on the dash. Ernie

Much of this depends upon the type of throttle you have. If you have
an air throttle, it does not move; If you have a cable throttle, it
normally will move. The fast idle is applied at the governor throttle
arms, therefore it does not affect the air throttle; the cable
throttle, having a mechanical connection to the throttle pedal will
move the pedal.
