onan 3 cyl generator '90wlsp36 - williamcharrison - 10-22-2005 11:00 Help, I just returned from an extended business trip and went to start the generator on my bird (which was running fine when I left) and it will start and immediately shut down. For the short time it runs it blows lots of black smoke. The air cleaner is brand new and unobstructed. I can keep it running by manually pulling back on the lever attached to the stop solenoid. Other items noticed are the oil pressure and temp gauges which appeared to be pegged (before I tried to start it the first time). onan 3 cyl generator '90wlsp36 - pattypape - 10-22-2005 12:15 Check for 12 volts at the fuel shut off solenoid.
