Battery Filler; from Trojan Batteries And Chargers - fwernlein - 02-05-2006 00:53

Nice find Fred....I am going to check on one of these; ideally, for
the back row of fill points, I'll try to figure out a way to fit a
small hose to the removed "push to fill spout"

Battery Filler; from Trojan Batteries And Chargers - John - 02-05-2006 06:36

Hi Frank,

I have one of the automatic shuttoff Battery fillers from NAPA, but I
can't get it to fit into the area above my house batteries, and
adding a hose to the NAPA model will not work that way either, it
uses a check ball inside of the filler neck to shut the water off
when the cell is full, so the water would have to fill up the hose
before it shut off and thus would overflow the cell.

Try this one that I made up myself, it works great and I believe that
it is cheaper too.

It doesn't have an automatic shutoff feature, but I have found that I
can tell by the sound of the water going into the battery, when each
cell is getting full and then I just check it with a mirror. I have
eight house batteries in my side compartment on a rear bath model and
a lerge semi truck battery in the front compartment for the main
engine. Check out this on my web site;
