Source for cruise control vacuum generator? - davidkerryedwards - 09-11-2006 02:50 Anyone know a source for the cruise control vacuum generator on an 82 FC 35? I called Bluebird and they don't carry them. Their parts department had no idea where I might get one. They seemed to think the vacuum generator came from Ford. Tom Warner posted 3-G Productions, but while they rebuild Bendix cruise controls, they don't carry vacuum generators. If you don't know a source for the generator, can you tell me what the two output lines on the generator are for? Are they both vacuum lines? If I can't find an identical replacement I may have to put something together and I need to know if I need two vacuum outputs or something else. My bus needs to suck again. Anyone care to express an opinion as to whether they would work as a substitute for the original vacuum generator on an early 80's FC? http://www.anver.com/document/vacuum%20components/vacuum%20generators/pumps-jv.h\ tm Kerry 82 FC35--that doesn't suck at the moment Denver > Source for cruise control vacuum generator? - Gardner Yeaw - 09-19-2006 21:48 Kerry, There was a forum update offering a generator in the last 10 days or so. I saw the offer for an electric vacuum pump. After giving it more thought, I think the best course of action is to replace the vacuum cruise control with a Rostas Global cruise which is electronic. The existing vacuum control was not working consistently and when I looked thru the bluebox, I saw that the original owner had taken it back to Bluebird a number of times for problems. So, since other members have had success with the Rostas, I think the best course of action is to eliminate the need for any vacuum at all. Kerry 82 FC 35--not sucking anymore Denver |
