Solar panel for FC - Scott Forman - 03-31-2007 12:51

I would like to install a solar charger on my FC and am looking for
suggestions on which model to buy, where to mount the panel, and how to
run the wiring down from the roof. Anyone install one on their FC?

Got two biguns on the roof, 20" X 48" wires down the refer chimney to controller
in side compartment with inverter and 4 AGMs.

I am running off of memory here as I sold this coach to Dave Beatty.

On my then 83 FC35 with a 120 Watt solar panel, the cable was
drilled down through roof at the very front, behind the front
overhead.

A remote display panel was installed in the front overhead. The
cable then ran down the driver side far front left channel at the
windshield, which led down very near the front left battery location.

This worked out very well. From the drivers seat, or while seated
in the front salon, the solar remote display panel was clearly
visible. It was also the most direct feed to the FC battery bank at
front left.
