Harvey Checker cab as a tow car? - Stephen Birtles - 05-04-2005 00:09 If it has the turbo 350 or 400 Transmission or a powerglide 2 speed you have to install a driveshaft disconnect Stephen Cape0001 77fc35 --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "offngo" <melmellinger@m...> wrote: > Anyone out there know if the Checker cab can be flat towed? > > Mel MEllinger > 85PT36 > Fort Lauderdale Checker cab as a tow car? - freewill2008 - 05-04-2005 02:42 I think the Checker used GM small block engines and 350/400 transmissions for many years. If the Checker you have in mind uses this drivetrain, then the towing requirements should be the same as a GM vehicle of the same period. If the Checker front end will track 4-down (not a given) then the worst case setup would be an auxillary transmission oil pump or a driveline disconnect.
