zf transmission no engagement - Ron Hazlett - 05-04-2005 12:58 Hi, I have 1987fc with a zf transmission. I am having infamous problem of the tranny not engaging, I have lots of neutrals. I have gone over some of the past posts, it seems that a common problem is low voltage to the ECM. Where would I check this at, and is there anything that I can check Thanks Ron Hazlett 1987fc Ohio zf transmission no engagement - mw88fc - 05-04-2005 13:04 feel free to call I had this fixed this this year on my 88fc mark 310 560 4454 --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Ron Hazlett" wrote: > Hi, > I have 1987fc with a zf transmission. Turned out a spring had broken on the push button linkage under the control box. I replaced the spring and problem was solved. It is a rheostat/sensor connected to a throttle cable, mounted to the outside- rear (rear of coach) of the battery box. If the sensor is not returning to the idle position (jammed, broken return spring, cable came loose, etc.) the transmission will think the throttle is wide-open and not shift into gear. - Jeff Miller http://www.wanderlodge.net http://www.millercoachworks.com --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Ron Hazlett" > Hi, > I have 1987fc with a zf transmission. I had the same problem and it was resolved by fixing the Throttle Position Sensor spring - as Jeff Miller has noted. Even though you already have the right answer, I just wanted to let you know to call me anytime to discuss 87FC issues, my number is in the database. - Rick 87FC35 Rochester, MN --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Ron Hazlett" > Hi, > I have 1987fc with a zf transmission. The problem was a corroded plug connection on the throttle position sensor. I cleaned it up, then wraped with electrical tape to keep out moisture. Its nice to have the Tranny shifting again!
