If using BB paint codes, double check before painting. - dam71967 - 05-17-2007 15:10 We had to perform a small amount of body work and have one panel repainted on our '88 WB40. Pulled the paint code from the plate mounted in the engine compartment and found out the code didn't match the body paint color. If you're doing any body painting(on your coach, not otherwise) I would double check the codes and color before painting. A minor lesson learned for me. Drew May '88 WB40 Southern Style IV Conway, AR If using BB paint codes, double check before painting. - Jack & Donna Smith - 05-17-2007 15:19 Yeah, I hear you. We had our coach repainted and chose official Bluebird colors. Dark Rose, Light Rose and Indian Silver... Looks great, but now I wish, (since we repainted the whole thing), that I had of chosen stock auto colors similar to the BB colors.. That way, matching spray cans of these colors are avalable at any Kragen, Pep Boys or Autozone.. Of the five colours only one code was correct. I don't know what gives but this is a common fault that I've heard several others complain about. I gave up and had my colours shot with one of those paint cameras. I've got some good touch-up paint now and some numbers that are reliable. Are your paint colors BASF paint? They would typically be identified by a 5 digit number. ie. 81735 is a rose tone. 79773 is Silver. I have a can of Indian Silver Met in front of me. R-M Diamont manufactured by BASF a German Corp. Code 79773 My Rose metallic also has a 5 digit code. No letters. Don't want to bother you just wondering. I have seen several posts about paint problems. It took me awhile but I figured it out. Base coat clear coat is really not that difficult to work with.
