Needing air filter part number - akav8r - 12-11-2007 11:20
I am looking for the part number for an air filter for an 1982 FCFB35
that has a CAT 3208NA engine. The filter measures 9 1/4 in dia. and
8 1/8 tall with fins. I looked it up under the files section on this
site, but those numbers are not right. Any help would be appreciated.

Wendel,
If you have the old air filter pull it out and take it to NAPA or just
about any diesel repair shop, they can match it up. Problem with most
part numbers on air filters every few years the manufactor changes the
number and at times cross references do not match up. You could also
check with other parts houses because air & oil filters are made by the
small company at times but put in a different vendors box.

My database comes up with the following NAPA number for my air filter:
2914-1290INI
I don't have my bus at home, but your dimensions sound right.
