1985 Airstep parts - mrkane1952 - 04-03-2008 10:41 Greetings: The problem began during this winter in 12 DF temperatures, and has worsened until now the airstep on my 1985 PT40 has failed: air leaks constantly from the controller and the main cylinder, and the step does not retract. Are repair kits (elastomer seals, for example) available to rebuild the three cylinders? Are NOS or other replacement parts available? The three assemblies are marked... You can order a small cylinder from Grainger too, but it will have a threaded end and you'll have to grind it down to a smooth point. As mentioned, Stephen has the switches and controller components. The new relay/control assembly has all black wires, but the two solenoids are separate, so it is easy to see which wire goes to which solenoid. On the original control, all the wires emerge from one end. The hot wires from the coach are red and yellow, but I can't tell which should go where on the new controller. Any help? What is recommended for replacement air lines?
