Dash heat working. - ronmarabito2002 - 11-20-2008 16:03 I have dash heat now. I ended up replacing the gate valve on the return line with a ball valve. I was able to remove the guts from the gate valve to check it. Upon re-assembly, I noticed the valve handle was moving in and out. Turns out, the gate was staying closed and the handle was doing the moving. It was so close to the frame, that the only way to get it out was either remove the water pump or modify the frame rail. I opted to modify the frame rail. With a carbide grinder blade I was able to cut the top flange on an angle to gain sufficient clearance to remove the valve. I also removed the guts to get the required clearance. Dash heat now works well. R.E.
