removing washer/dryer - rogerwwebb - 03-16-2009 12:49 How is the w/d affixed to the slide out tray?? I am planning on removing the washer/dryer from my 91WL. It must be bolted, locked down or just stuck to the closet slide out tray, but I do not readily see how. Therefore, I thought it would be easier to ask the group how is it attached and how to remove it. Thanks. Those screws are holding the unit down. R.E. To remove it I have to remove the 3/4" x 2" piece of wood from the front edge of the washer and then slide out the w/d. My W/D is in a closet and I had to remove it to service the dryer vent (it had become clogged). There was a board at the back of the unit covered in the ubiquitous grey felt that seemed intended to keep things from falling behind the machine. However, after considerable tugging, pulling, and prying I discovered "stealth" screws going through the board into the top of the washer. The screw heads were near invisible, as they were drawn down into the pile of the felt and it took some careful searching (by touch since I couldn't look down on the board) to find the screws. Once the screws were located and removed, it was easy to pull out the unit. However, the installation of the W/D seems to vary by year and floorplan (and random chance)...
