Cabinet Door Struts - patticake592000 - 05-12-2009 08:19 Which way do the struts on the interior cabinets face? The housing up or down, or does it matter? Steve Gureasko 90WBWL401/2 Jus Chillin Ponchatoula, La. Cabinet Door Struts - mrkane1952 - 05-12-2009 08:31 Steve: All of mine have the cylinder uppermost. That is, the wide part is attached to the door, the slender end to the cabinet frame. --M.R.Kane '87 PT40 currently Aledo, TX Cabinet Door Struts - freewill2008 - 05-12-2009 12:59 When I changed the star-wheel supports to gas struts I accidentally put most of them in one way and a few the other way. Doesn't seem to make any difference on our coach. Cabinet Door Struts - Chuck Wheeler - 05-13-2009 17:00 The fat part of the tube needs to be on the top. This keeps the fluid against the seals and keeps them lubricated and keeps the gas in the sealed part of the tub.. Mounted with the fat side down will work but you will have premature failure when they will become weak. I read this on one of the manufactures sites. Up till then I wondered the same thing
