FC Dash Oil Leak - bberic35 - 03-28-2011 10:46

I've been tracking down the source of some oil drips coming from under the dash.
Not a flood yet, but I don't want to ignore it until it gets real ugly. The
wiring in this area is so thick it's really hard to get a good look at where
it's coming from. I've removed the upper and lower dash panels and opened up
the outside front panel on the driver's side. Thus far, I've observed the
following:
1. Tubing from the engine oil pressure gauge to the quick disconnect is intact.
2. Tubing quick disconnect is dry - no leak there.
3. There appears to be an alarm stat labeled "Cadillac" below the quick
disconnect. The leak appears to be coming from this gizmo or immediately below
it.

Questions:
1. Has anyone had a similar problem?
2. If so, how did you resolve it?
3. Access to this area is VERY limited, what did you do to get into the alarm
stat?

Best solution may be to abandon the pressure stat and old tubing to the engine,
if I can figure out where the pressure tap is, and run a new line. All
help/suggestions appreciated.
