Hi all,

On the subject of battery combiners, those marketed today are
intelligent and only combine when a charge voltage of say 13 volts or
better is present. This works very well.

There is no voltage drop like a battery isolator, so if your running
an intelligent converter, your genset battery will get an excellant
charge.

Thanks Don. I did not know we could get a combiner with those kind
of smarts. I like it - the best possible combination of features.

Terry:
As you read from Bob's message, good suggestions, but if you decide to boondock,
and want to make sure that your genset battery has power, add a small to medium
size solar panel just to the genset battery, that will keepit topped up, and
ready for use.

Bill,

I had to replace my original Rediline & battery chargers. I installed 2

IOTA chargers for my main battery bank (I have 2 "house" batteries) I

am keeping the gen set charging outside the rest of the system. Then my

gen set gets charged by the engine alternator, shore power (Chargers) or

the generator itself. Still working on what type/size inverter to use

in the coach and will probably add a solar panel to the coach too.
