Battery Choices - Re: Getting Back on the Road this Weekend...
I wanted to ad a couple of Concord AGMs to my FC house bank. Local criminals
quoted me damn near 300 bucks ea. I'm going back to flooded cell, them AGMs
ain't worth that kind of money. I'd listen if some one out there has a better
hook up on Concords, even POB.

this Weekend...

I don't recall saying the batteries were no good I was stating that
interstate was nothing more than a marketing company that sells
batteries a good marketing model
Interstate sells a number of products by different manufacturers not
similar products made by the same manufacturer Which leads one to
believe that the lowest bidder gets the contract. So I would question
the quality at times.
Personally I like Rolls and Surrette Batteries for flooded Cell
Lifeline and Fullriver for AGM
I also like the comments on this forum especially when one member
bushwacks another who is honestly trying to sell their coach for
whatever reason
Another case of opening mouth and changing feet.VBG
Lets get on to fixing coaches

Battery Choices - Re: Getting Back on the Road this Weekend...
Wow!

Thank you all for you battery posts! I didn't realize there was so
much passion for batteries! As it turns out, there is a Trojan
battery dealer about 10 miles away from my house in NJ. I'm going to
visit them today.

They are asking $105 for each Trojan T-105. The T-125 battery is
special order, and costs about $160 each.

The slight extra performance of the T-125 is not worth the extra 50%
in cost, in my opinion.

Thanks Stephen for the post showing all the manufacturers that make
Interstate batteries. Interesting.

Could not find a post from anybody complaining about problems with
their Trojans. Guess that makes up my mind!

May also install a large 4D battery for starting the Cat some time in
the future.

Thanks again everyone!

Battery Choices - Re: Getting Back on the Road this Weekend...
Andy,
If there is a golf cart company near you, you may want to try them to buy the
105's, as they buy them buy the pallet... They may give you a better deal... I
just purchased 4 of them for $80.00 out the door, paid cash no tax...

Weekend...

I use Odyssey Batteries...They are smaller and lighter than wet cell batteries.

Andy,

More is almost always better, But recheck the height of the T125.
It is taller and this height would not fit into our 88 FC, Also the
T125 is a really heavy battery. Take a look at Deka batteries.

http://www.eastpenn-deka.com/

The specs for the 6 volt Deka batteries are about the same as the
popular Trojans. The Deka is mfg. in Pennsylvania , A battery
distributor stated there is about a 15 to $20, savings per battery if
you are located East on the Mississippi because of the Trojan
shipping cost from the West coast.??...
But this may just be a sales pitch............
I purchased 6 Deka batteries, because they were available, had the
post type connectors, and yes they were less cost than the Trojans,
Only six months old , But so far they are good.,

Battery Choices - Re: Getting Back on the Road this Weekend...
Andy, Tom,

Yes, the battery height dimensions on the website seems to have
changed,, this makes it a little difficult to make a decision. It
seems the height and weight has changed for the T125. The battery
terminals have several different configurations and this changes the
height dimension, So, caution here if you decide on a special order,
Most golf cart repair shops stock the threaded stud with the wing nut
post.\

The Trojan site lists the dimensions and terminal configurations.
The dimensions are pretty standard throughout ,but there could always
be exceptions.
