Front heat shutoff

The cockpit in our bird is roasting unless I shut off heater
water flow at the engine. There is a solenoid valve in line
near the front center of the coach which I disassembled and
cleaned. I ordered 2 Sporlan valve repair kits but this valve has
a piston at least twice the size of the Sporlan. I would have assumed
that this valve was energized to operate (normally closed) and I can't
get access to the leads going into the solenoid. What are my options?
