My PT36 sits 6 to 8 inches high in the rear, both sides, w/suspention fully inflated. The front is normal. It seems unlikely to have two mal- adjusted levelors. Is there something else I should be looking at? If it is indeed the levelors, is it much of a job to adjust them? Art Weatherly Riverside Ca '85 PT36 | |||

Art, Check the specs in your Blue Box. I believe my 83 was higher in the raer and it was per the specs in the Blue Box. The late Sid Clark and I checked it one time at a Lone Star Birds rally to verify the settings. FWIW..... Mine has an approximate ride height of 16" in the front and between 18-19" in the rear. This is measured in front behind the front wheel from the body skin and in the rear measured in front of the drive wheel from the body skin. I wouldn't know if yours should be the same. Art, I measured my ride height Home Depot paint stick (a paint stick for a 5 gal. bucket). I drew lines on a stick several years ago after Bennie informed me of the ride heights. I carry the stick in the bus, and use it to verify front & rear ride height. The line for the front is at 16", 18" for the rear. Bennie said the ride height could vary by 1", + or -. and the rear should always be higher than the front. Your issue, my guess, is the ride height valves need to be cleaned out or replaced. I experienced one side would ride high, increasing the other sides height some. Installing new ride height valves eliminated the problem, so far. Leroy, are those measurements just "what they are" or is it based on something that says that's "the way they should be"? I assume mine and yours would be the same, but I have not seen anything to indicate what mine should be. I measured today at the points you indicate, and they are 14-1/4 front, and 16-1/4 rear. That would appear to be a couple of inches low, on both counts. The measurements are just what they are. I have no data showing what it should or should not be. I do know the rear sits a couple inches higher than the front. I would bet yours is within specification. Don Bradner Leroy, are those measurements just "what they are" or is it based on something that says that's "the way they should be"?
