Laminate repair
Fred:
There used to be small mom and pop franchises doing countertop repairs. Did you try the yellow pages for Phoenix?? A Google shows lots of DIY kits. Here is one: http://www.repair-it-all.com/woodandforre.html When I installed my new fridge I felt it needed spacing to keep the back part from touching the wall. I used pine and went to Home Depot with one of the cupboard doors that is the same color as the wall. They mixed me up some gloss lacquer. You cannot tell the wood from the surrounding laminate. If you used Bondo and then the paint it might be OK. Good Luck. Bruce |

Laminate repair
Fred, decorate it. is it a good spot to put a towl holder knob on
or cabinet vent or something that looks like it should be there or is useful being there? I cover bullet holes with pictures before I get RE appraisals. Laminate repair
Greg,
The damage is on the cabinet base corner with a curved edge below the countertop.
If I can't make it right I will put a sheet of polished brass to protect the corner and hide the other bullet holes.
Thanks for the ideas.

Laminate repair
Hello Fred,
My coach had a couple of areas where there was damaged laminate when I bought my coach. When I caused one to occur I understood what caused the problem. To fix the damage; I found an area on my coach that was concealed in which I could remove a piece of just the matching laminate. The clunk of laminate was large enough to scavenge the repair pieces I needed. I cut /trimmed the damaged laminate with a Dremel tool and a razor knife. I carefully worked a piece of the matching laminate with a Dremel/file/knife/sandpaper until it fit perfectly. I glued the matching pieces in place with adhesive/chalk that was close to the color of my laminate. I clamped it overnight. I found someone with a router who just trimmed the outside edge of my repair. I'll bet a stranger couldn't find the repaired areas unless I showed them where they are. All of the damaged areas of my laminate occurred when a door struck either a cabinet frame or another door when being opened. I prevented that damage from occurring again by putting shims (thin washers) under the fasteners for the cabinet doors. Good luck, Eric Perplies currently in Boulder City, NV 96' 42' WBWL |
