Dash EL Inverter Locations
Leroy I have two inverters in the over head panel. Mine were bad & I
replaced them with two form Stephen. They lit it up a lot brighter. Mine were
above the driver side in the load center. My bottom dash is out right now & it
is the inverters. I have 5 in the outside right load center. Stephen said two
would that one also.

Curt: Thanks, this winter I am going to look again for the inverters that
power my overhead panel. I have a Royal conversion and cannot remove the panel,
encased with wood. It is the only one that does not work so I think the
problem is in the inverters. Cannot find them. I don't know how I going to do
it
but will try again. There are many stereo, TV and other cables in the overhead
cabs. Looks like good Italian spaghetti.
So there was only on inverter cube that powered your complete overhead
panel? Is there only one panel? I think I have three.

Leroy,

I found our lower dash EL inverters (2) behind the center console
drawers. What fun I had replacing them...PITA comes to mind.

The upper dash EL inverter (1) was found behind the upper dash, drivers
side, easy R&R.

The old were the blue cube. Replacements came from Stephen Birtles,
silver, rectangle.

Don, I'll look at the left upper load center and the exterior load center
again. You cannot believe how much time I have sent looking for those little
suckers. Can't find them.

Thanks,

Does your Altimeter panel light up. If it is suppose to mine doesn't.
Only the panels on each side.

One upper dash inverter. Multiple panels...a left panel, a right panel,
and the Altimeter between the two.

Thanks. I'm going to look again this weekend. I do not have an altimeter but
have a Bird logo in the center. Pretty cool if I can get the background to
work. I spent 7 hours today cleaning and painting everything in the engine bay.
Looks great.

Mine had a loose wire on the right upper side that when I plugged it in
every thing worked fine except the small middle section.

Don,
Good question. I don't recall if the altimeter would light up. Once I
had the upper dash working, it soon failed which could be caused by me
doing a lot of work up in there. I have not gotten back to testing that.
Will do so soon, maybe. It is on my to-do-list.

Ernie: Bus does have goat rails. I am the 3rd owner originally titled in
Texas. I bought it from a family in Wilmington, NC. They had owned it 8
months, they purchased a Prevost. He is the one who advised me about the
conversion. It does not look like a standard BB inside. I don't think there
are many.
