Radio Speakers not working
I have a Privacy switch above my head, and to the left, where you switch on
the A/C and Elect Heater units. That switch might have been bumped off
accidentally. Also, it might sound elementary, but check your fader control on
the radio...make sure your front speakers are "on". As for the weird dimming
lights on the radio, sounds like a low voltage issue to the unit itself. Try
turning off the electronic master switch (the toggle switch found in a
cabinet...mine is in the overhead storage cabinet, street side, above the
little
glass front spice cabinet, then turning it back on. It might "re-boot" the
radio....make sure that your master switch is on at the same time (the one
under
the dash).

Also...did anyone have an Alpine radio in their BB (the one with a
detachable head, cassette, with a remote CD changer) lying around....maybe
someone who
has upgraded the radio? I sent my unit back to Alpine to replace the
illumination bulbs about a yr ago, and they have burnt out again...the display
is
dark, and unless you hold a light to the front of the display, you can't read
the radio display. the unit works fine, except for not being able to see
the display. Anyone???

Thanks..

Radio Speakers not working
I have a unusual problem. The front radio has no sound coming from the
speakers. This has just happened a few weeks ago. I can see that the
radio is getting a signal as the stereo light will flicker and the cd's
will change songs.
As I was waiting for tires to be installed today I turned the master
switch under the dash off. After the master switch was turned off the
radio would play for app. 2 seconds, off for a second then come on
again for about 1 second very faintly. The light display on the radio
would remain constant during this. I tried this several times with the
same result.
Any ideas?

Check your Speaker to headphones switch. Mine is on the left arm
console and I keep hitting it with my elbow.

I had a similar problem. It turned out to be that the equalizer was the
problem, it had failed. I simply bypassed the equalizer and everything works
fine.
