Corian tabletop
My corian tabletop mysteriously developed 2 sharp edged cracks while
I was parked with the levelers down. I realize that it should be replaced by a professional but I wonder if anything I did contributed to the cracking. Also, what should I expect to pay for the job? Chuck Harrison Akron, Ohio 90SP36 |

I've been warned about putting very hot items on corian; i.e.,
pots and pans - always use a trivet of some sort. Is it possible that heat caused the cracks? Chuck,
Corian can, in many cases, be repaired invisibly. During the early 90's BB used some 1/4" Corian glued to plywood. While the two materials expand and contract about the same with changes in temperature, the best bet is to use 1/2" Corian over support strips. If your table top can be unscrewed from underneath, I would take it to a kitchen design/installation dealer that specializes in Corian. They can probably repair it to good as new condition. Cost of repair will be much less than a new one which will also vary greatly depending on how the edge was/is styled and built. Rich D. Anyone have any experience with cracking of the corian on the dining
room table? Mine has cracked in two places and I was told by the local table and counter shop that it can't be repaired because part of it has lifted (with razor sharp edges). Chuck harrison Akron, Ohio 90SP36 |

Been gone to California for a week or so. I did not see a response to you
question. Corian will not crack unless it is unstable and moving around. The only repair is a new one and figure out why the original broke. It is an off-white, if I had to guess I would say bone.

I never got a reply from you. I am a terrible judge of color but
I know it is off white. Chuck harrison Akron, Ohio 90WLSP36 --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, RTJ49@... wrote: > > Hi Chuck, > What color is the top. Let me know.
