Toilet emergency...Help!

Mine has a cut-off, thankfully.

Still need to know how to fix it.

Did you see the link to the manual and the steps to fix I posted? Repeated
below.

The manual has diagrams, but you might not need them. I don't think I would
attempt it without removing the toilet - rock it up and out to avoid destroying
the wax ring, or get a new ring.


The troubleshooting in the microphor manual at
http://www.microphor.com/pdf/LF-220_Manual.pdf says "Water continues to
run. Obstruction in water Solenoid Valve. Remove and inspect Solenoid Valve -
see Solenoid Valve Cleaning" The latter section says:

Solenoid Valve Cleaning
1 Disconnect the power by removing the two blue wires from the solenoid.
2 Disconnect the water supply line at china end.
3 Remove two screws securing the solenoid to the mounting bracket.
4 Pull solenoid away from the Vacuum Breaker.
5 Remove water supply tube.
6 Remove four (4) screws from Solenoid Valve Body and remove spring and
diaphragm.
7 Clean holes in the diaphragm if clogged. Inspect solenoid for debris and
clean. Reassemble in reverse order.

I do not have a microphor, it's an old fashioned Thetford, no air, no
electronics. It's exactly the same toilet that was in my 82 FC.

Hi Scott:

Your going to need a ball valve replacement package. If your commode is the
original and is the starlight or galaxy, the part number is #09868 and
there should be the needed replacement instructions.

But a couple of short cuts might help. 1. Turn off the water and look where
the water hooks up to the ball valve and un screw the nut holding the tube
to the valve. 2. Open the top lids and on your left as you face the front
of the unit you will see a circle plastic piece that is flush, with a small
knife blade pry it up and out but take care not to bang it up too much.

Now then there are 2 screws with nuts that hold the unit to the floor and
with a flash light peer down the hold of the cover you just removed, I use
a 3/8 drive 18 inch extension, a swivel and a deep well socket to loosen
and remove that nut. Then with a long stout screw driver, press down on the
foot pedal and use the long stout screwdriver to hold it down, now you can
see the second nut that must be removed. The commode is now up and out the
door to work on, oh, grab a beer on the way by the refer.

You are going to have to remove the flush mechanism to replace the ball
valve and should find some 8 or so screws around the base holding the flush
mech to the bowl, there are also 2 hoses held on by crimp hose clamps that
must be removed. Now the base is off and you can see where you have to go.
Whole job should take you about 1 hr 15 minutes or so from out to in and done.

Ah, sorry, I saw the "no air" but missed the Thetford. Like many here I have a
"no air" Microphor. Electric.

Scott, if you need the replacement package for the Thetford I have one listed
for sale on WOO classifieds that is brand new. I came across it as I was
cleaning a box out in my garage.

Scott,
Hopefully yours will be a simple and inexpensive fix. The parts to fix mine was
over half the price of a new one so I opted to upgrade to the newer home looking
china bowl. If you go the new route let me know and I will send you my source.
