more than one problem
First of all I went to the FMCA rally in Bend and on the way back I
had new Trogan 105 batteries put in the coach in Pasco Wa. The next
day on my way home I made a stop and I tried to start the bus and
for a few second there was nothing and then it started to turn over
and started but the tack didn't work. I didn't want to shut it off
so I took off. I got to St Regis and stoped for lunch and shut the
bus off and after lunch it start right off and the tack worked. Got
home and have tried to start the bus and the tack works one out of
every ten times I start the bus. Thats problem number one. Number
two, I cked the voltage of the batteries and it was only about 12.4
for the first couple days at home pluged in. Then I cked one after
noon and the voltage was at 14 so I cked the Heart invertor and it
is set on about 12.9. I un-pluged the bus and then pluged it in
about two hours later and the voltage has been holding at about
12.8. (these are my first new batteries sence I bought the bus so is
that about right) The fridge went out now. If you unplug from shore
power it will run on gas but will not run on anything if it is
pluged in. The lights will come on for a second and go off. Last
thing the alternator light goes on and off and if you switch to
alter two the engine dies unless you have the RPM's up then it
doesn't. Also the ck engine light comes on when switched to
alternator two. Any ideas would be great.

I would guess you have a short in the wiring inside the dash. I base that
assumption on a couple of things:

First, the alternator switch on my coach, which should be the same as yours,
does not switch alternators. It only switches which one is being displayed.

Second, I had a number of problems where I would get glitches, most notably the
transmission degrading and going into do not shift mode, when various switches
were operated, most often the headlights.

I found that a wiring bundle (green wires) passed over a metal piece and had
chafed a number of them so that they could short to ground. Besides covering the
metal edge with some split rubber tubing, I wrapped each wire and then the
bundle in rubber electrical tape.

Craig, I wonder if the individuals that installed your batteries did not
tighten the cables properly?

if they were all tight and everything looks good. I put in six new
t105 so no I didn't mix 6 and 12v. I pulled the dash out yesterday
but didn't have time to ck it close. Will do that today and maybe I
will find the problems with the alternators.

Why would the votage go to 14 and then down to 12.8 and stay there.
And could that have done damage to the circit board on the fridge.

Take the cables off the battery and measure the resistance (ohms)
from connector to connector. Resistance should read zero. You
may have a faulty cable. A battery at rest should read 12.6V and
one charging should read 13.8V. I don't think you damaged any
printed circuit cards.

Yes, I have the standard 6, T105's in a series/parallel arrangement. Why?

Craig, sorry to here about your electrical problems, you know the 105,
are not the problem. Dad and I had a great time parked next to you and
Shelly at Bend, thanks for the hospitality. Did you get the card I left
in the door at Celillo rest area? My wife and I were going by on our
way home Sunday and saw your coach parked, but you were out and about.
With all the weird stuff going on electrically, can't help but wonder
if there is a ground problem somewhere. My coach is down for now as I
am building a new genorator slide bracket and have a z-bracket wore out
on the throttle positioning cable for the trany.
