Minor but annoying problems

A few other things happened while on our 4k mile journey, which I hope you can
help me with.
Gauges - they are driving me crazy.

Oil Temp gauge - boucing all over the place, then lost it, now bouncing again.
Wiring to the sender seems ok, but did not check the sender.

Pyrometer - moves very little, stays now about 300deg mark, sometimes it bounces
up to 800 or so.

Speedometer - working fine, then it was very erratic, now seems to be working
fine. Is this like a magnetic pickup off the rear drivers wheel?

Generator - runs fine, voltage, current all ok, but only runs for about 40
minutes at a time.
I thought that it could be the oil pressure switch as the contact was loose, but
that made no difference. The last time I ran it, all was fine then it quit and
the oil pressure gauge went hard to the right, now it won't start.

My generator started quitting after about 40 minutes ... and I found
that the cooling fan wasn't working -- the generator was shutting
down to avoid damage due to overheating. SInce your coach is somewhat
older, I don't know if your genny set up is different, however.

It would start then run for 30 seconds or so once it was warmed up,
then stop again. Re start once it had cooled down would run for 30-40
minutes, etc.

There's also a water level sensor that could be part of the problem.
I think Gardner had some experience with that... (Perhaps he'll join
in....)

Thanks Pete:
I did check the fan, and the cooling water temp went to 160 deg and stayed
there. The water level is fine. BUT the oil gauge did show 50 psi then poof,
it is hard right and now it won't start.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
