Replacing PT generator

Knock on wood, my original Yanmar/Kohler gen is working like a champ
and only has 1800 hrs, so I expect to get many more years of service
out of it. Just for the sake of discussion, though, has anyone
replaced their 80's PT generator, and what model did you use?

Scott,
Mine had been replaced when I got it in 2005 with a Power Tech 8 kw in a sound
cabinet. Model CD8000, 35 Amps on each leg. Works fine. It has a Kabota 3
cyl. engine. The radiator is attached to the rear of the engine on the
slide-out, so no flat radiator in the left front under the driver.

Scott,
Well, I've never had the need to do that. I suppose one could if nothing else
was on. Remember, 35 Amps per leg. I've run the front two and didn't worry
about anything else being on. The front 2 are on different legs. That was in
So. Cal & Yuma last October, but have never run all 3 A/C's at once.

Was it a direct replacement (i.e. no mods to coach)? Able to use
original controls/gauges? Is it substantially quieter?

I was able to use everything.same gages and radiator.
and it is quieter.Know more slip ring and brushes
