Water Leak

I will try to tear into it all tomorrow.
Does the rear bed lift up or is it bolted down?

All the pipes go under there. Cold, water pump, and Hot. So take your pick..



Let me know if you need any help, I have been there, done that. I should be
able to help when you find out which one it is.-Or actually it could be
water running from somewhere else coming out under the fridge. (water
tank,ect)

coming from under the fridge area. Possible water leak?? any ideas

both, on my 83fcsb. if you have one bed (not twins) three sections of
plywood can be removed without a screw driver, but the one over the
water tank is screwed down (go figure. In your posts include SB (side
bath) or RB (rear bath) it does make a diffrence in some things.

I was checking our bus over today getting ready for a long trip in a
few weeks and I found a fresh water leak. It is dripping out of a hole
abovve the engine inside the engine compartement. It is a bit to the
drivers side of the coolant resevoir, so almost at the rear corner
about head high as I look at the back of the bus. Coming out of the
hole is a bundle of wires with a plastic shroud wrapping it. I
investigated the inside of the coach in the closet behind the bed and
found a little door that led to the water heater and the back of the
circuit breakers. I looked closely and there is no evidence of any
water in this area. Any ideas of where to look? I hate to yank too hard
on the wire bundle. The drip is quite slow but steady, like maybee a
drip every ten or twenty seconds.

Robert, On my 89 WB PT40, the fresh water pump and tank are located
under the bed. I suggest you look there and check all the water line

Hi Robert,
I had drips coming out of the same hole..turned out to be the
overheat valve on the hot water heater. Mine didn't have any hose
connected to it to get the water out of the bus, so leaked and
drained out of the same hole you described. I think my thermostats
were going bad, so changed them at the same time..really not that
hard to do...check your overflow valve for any moisture.

I use a wad of yellow or blue toilet paper to find water and fuel
leaks. When the paper gets wet it turns dark. you can reach in and
wipe areas.

when you find moisture, dry up the area, put a big wad of paper there
to soak up the water mid path. wait for more build up then, go back
to the search to locate a new wetspot closer to the source.

My guess is that your over flow (pressure) valve on your hot water
heater is leaking. Not sure if you're is the same location or not. My
water heater drips a little from it's relief valve when it's heating or
the engine is running & heating it through the heat exchanger. Your
drain for same should be plumbed down through the bottom of that
compartment, right at the right rear corner of the coach.

Help!

Just getting ready to leave for vacation and as I was filling the fresh
water tank I noticed water gushing from above the holding tank on the
driver's side. I have confirmed that it is the cold water supply to the shower.
I took the mixing valve cover off but cant see far enough
down to tell where the leak is, but I can sure hear it.
Question is, how do I access the plumbing for the shower, or should
I just feed a new line through from below the sink?

could be the overflow from the tank. the pipe is in the tank abit and not just
at the full level.
once it starts to overflow, it could continue to siphon out the volumn up to
the overflow pipe hanging in the tank.

run plastic tubing with push and turn fittings as you describe should be good to
go
which leads to the question what overflow from the holding tank? water flows
down not up and siphon has nothing to do with it
