need help again.

I found out why the dash lights did not come on. The back of the headlight
switch had separated. Now the problem is with the headlight safety buzzer and
warning light stays on when the engine is running. As soon as I turn on the
headlights it's starts to buzz and the headlight warning comes on. It does not
make a difference whether the key is in the ignition or even while the engine is
running.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hello Fred,
All I did was squeeze the case and the dash lights started working. I was not
aware that it was a two part switch. Do you know if this switch can be found if
is need to be replaced?

I would pull it out and take it to a good parts store with a real parts guy and he should be able to match it up.

I don't recall right this moment,but I believe it is a late 80's or early 90's GM switch.

Most GM switches have the last 3 or 4 numbers of the 7 digit factory number (Delco Remy) cast or stamped on them.

You may find it online,but a good description and decent photo is really important.Most suppliers won't bother to post that kind of information.

I hope you can find one,because I think it needs replacing.
