Engine won't start or Primus

Nelson,

I have Interstate batteries for the same reason as Roger, easiest thing to do
and convenient to find on the road for replacements.

As for the 14V reading on your dash meters, that sounds like a bogus surface
charge reading if the engine cranks slowly and does not start. You will need to
load test the batteries individually to see what happens to the voltage reading
then. There's probably a dry cell or bad cell somewhere on one or more of the
start batteries.

In the meantime, if you have not already tried it, use the aux battery switch on
the dash to tie the battery banks together and try to start again. If that
doesn't work, I would just use battery jumper cables from a 12V neg ground toad
to the jumper pins inside the rear door to get it started, until you can get the
batteries checked out.

Yes, the switch was "on" to charge both sets of batteries. I am sure the ether
tank is empty I have had this bus for 10 years and never used it. The bus only
has 31000 miles on it.

When I was in Ft Worth, I bought T105 Trojans. They lasted quite a few years. When I was in Austintown, Ohio last year, batteries died. All that was available was Crown batteries. Put them on the coach and off and running. Oh Yes, Trojans are great batteries. I have also learned on this forum that oil is also a thing to discuss, and subject to differences of opinion. I think that Shawn from Pa. got me to looking at batteries, {Pls. don't shoot me in case I mis-spelled your name Shawn}, and this I have learned. Sams Club sells a excellent 6 volt golf cart battery, if you use that type, but if not here is the good news Their batteries are mfg. by Johnson Controls. This company has a excellent reputation, and they manufacture these batteries; Interstate, Sears Diehard, as well as the Sams Club Golf cart Batteries, as well as others. I have Interstate batteries at present, and have got great service from them. I will buy the Sams Club batts next time, because when I checked the price early last year, they were approx. $74.00 ea., vs. the Interstate, which were around $105. Thank you all for the information.
FOLLOW UP ON ENGINE WON'T START
After turning on the Primus for 2 hours the engine started right up. Not bad for
setting for 4 months.
The only problem I see is the Level warning light is on even thought they are
completely up.

Nelson, Good going! So how did you get the Primus to start? As previously posted, they would not start. And I guess the batteries were OK after all? Thanks for the update.
