back up camera solenoid or relay or ???
Jeff,
Do you or anyone else have a mother board schematic for the Audiotronic back up monitor that you could send me. This is the '86-up monitor, I believe they later became Dotronix. Your problem is a common one. If you remove the monitor (fairly simple in your coach with the overhead mount), it can be repaired. I have found that the daughter-board has an edge connector which is prone to solder-joints failing, probably from vibration. Re-soldering the connector on the daughter-board and mother-board should (and has always for me) fix the problem. Supporting the board so that it can't as easily vibrate/move should also prevent the problem in the future. That is also a great time to reverse the image so that you can install a new camera. The red and blue wires on the two-pin connector on the mother-board need to be cut and reversed (red to blue, blue to red), then a new BNC-type camera can be used. I've been very happy with ultra- low-light .003 lux B&W cameras from Supercircuits.com, much cheaper cameras are available from them and others also. The Dotronix monitor is B&W. - Jeff Miller in Holland, MI --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Howard O. I can tap on the case and it will sometimes come back on other times will flash lines across screen. I have moved wiring around running to case with no results so I think it must be internal. Is there some place to get it repaired. Your thoughts please. > Howard Truitt > Camilla, Ga. > 86 PT40 SPONSORED LINKS Recreational vehicles Recreational vehicle financing Recreational vehicle repair Recreational vehicle rental Recreational vehicle camper Recreational vehicle rate ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ YAHOO!
