Update on 78 w/ bad 3208
Hey all,
Don't know if anyone recalls, but I posted a while back about needing to replace a 3208 in my 78 Wanderlodge. I've been staying at a friends for the past three plus weeks while it's being worked on, so my connectivity is spotty right now. Sadly, there's a lot of personal problems with the people at the shop it's at. The mechanic is fighting with the owner of the shop, who has since brought in another mechanic to work on it, and said owner constantly pulls the mechanic off my rig to work on others he deems more 'important'. The swap is taking a lot longer then expected. My irritation is also going a lot higher then expected. The owner finally brought in the different mechanic when I told him I was just going to come in and do it myself and not pay him a damned thing. Now, apart from that, I'm actually surprised at how easy it's gone...when work was actually being performed. In about six hours, two of which were spent unwedging the engine because the mechanic tried to skip steps, the engine was completely out. Another few hours to swap off all the different items between the two engines and I would think it could be back in within a day. Most of the time I have been present and somewhat helpful during the process thanks to a layoff right after the repairs began. If I had known it was going to take them four weeks to get around to working on it and it would have been so simple I would have attempted it myself. Joshua Long 1978 Wanderlodge, unnamed yet...
