Pete, thanks for the info. Most mountain grades have posted turns
that further reduce the speed with a suggestion 25, 30,35mph . second gear and at 1800R's travel is a comfortable heatfree 35 mph. The same roads that have long stretches of straight incline, usuly have a passing lane for that section. The big fear with not allowing following traffic to pass is when one of the following cars try and pass in the oncomming lane. I asked a trucker today if he recalls the 5 car law your dad wrote. He said he understood it to state: 'If five or more cars are following and one or more of the five or more is a CHP officer, you must hit the turn out.'
