Ryan, Your DDv92 likes to find its own oil level. You can waste a lot of
oil topping off the last half gallon of oil every few days. Don't add until
it's down a full gallon to the "add" line. Then consider adding just half a
gallon and see how it does. I was advised by at least three experienced
mechanics to run straight 30weight oil instead of the more readily available
multiweight 15x40w. In various conditions, your engine will use more or
less oil. High heat and high loads require more. Oil consumption is a way
of life with an 8V92 but I sure liked how it performed.
