Getting to PT engine from bedroom

Still trying to figure out how to access the front of the engine from
the bedroom. I have twin beds. When I remove the night stand between
the beds, these is plywood under it with no seams or "doors". Under
the mattersses, there is insulation glued to the top of the plywood, so
I cannot see it. I would rather not pull up all that insulation if I
can avoid it, is that all one piece of wood under there or is there a
seam somewhere? When I look into the engine compartment from the side,
it looks like there is a small opening above the alternator. How do I
get to it???
