Water Pump Running
This has happened with my '86 a few times...it always indicated a
leak...each time it was a small drip every minute or so at the water heater...once it was a leaking QEST (sp?) fitting (now all replaced), and the second time it was an actual leak in the water heater tank itself, requiring replacement of the water heater. I too have replaced the accumulator tank with a demand Shurflo 5.7gpm pump. Don't overlook it...you need to find the leak otherwise you could be in line for wood damage, carpeting, mold and mildew, etc. Good luck....
